Solo Launches Marketing Effort For New Eco-Forward™ Line of Plates and Cups

Bare™ by Solo® offers Consumers Single-Use Products made with Renewable, Recycled or Compostable Materials

CHICAGO, Il., May 20, 2009 – Solo Cup Company has launched an integrated marketing effort to introduce Bare™ by Solo® plates and cups made with renewable materials like sugarcane, bamboo or corn. Bare by Solo is designed for consumers seeking an eco-forward™ option when purchasing single-use products – and who also want to bring style and durability to the table. Bare by Solo is the industry’s first full line of single-use products for restaurants and consumers made with renewable, recycled or compostable materials.

The campaign developed by Schafer|Condon|Carter, a leading privately held integrated marketing agency, will include television, print and online communications.  The launch kicks off in a big way with Bare by Solo products featured in a segment of The Martha Stewart Show airing Wednesday, May 20.

To make a bigger impact, and to demonstrate its commitment to supporting consumer education about litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling and community beautification, Bare by Solo is the category-exclusive national sponsor of Keep America Beautiful® and its Great American Cleanup™.
Eco-forward™ is a term unique to Solo Cup Company and was created to express the Company’s ongoing commitment to developing greener alternatives that contribute to a more environmentally sustainable future.
